North Shore’s Sports Day in Canada “Open House”

The North Shore Girls Soccer Club will be represented at the North Shore’s Sports Day in Canada Open House this Saturday, September 18^th from 10:00am - 4:00pm at the Grant Connell Tennis Centre, 280 Lloyd Avenue (south of Marine Drive across from the ICBC Claim Centre).

The NSGSC would also like to ask its members to help us support KidSport at the Open House. KidSport is a non-profit organization that helps to remove financial barriers to youth that prevent them from playing organized sport. KidSport North Shore is holding a Used Equipment Sale and is accepting donations of good used equipment from the 13^th to the 17^th 8:00am-8:00pm at Grant Connell. Equipment will be “value priced” to benefit families who are budget-conscious, and the funds raised will help with the registration costs for community sport.

NSGSC “Bubble Project” Update

The ‘Bubble Project’ continues to advance with the licence of occupancy being finalized with the School District of North Vancouver, and a contractor being selected and approved by the NSGSC Board to manufacture and install the 30,000 square foot air supported structure. The building permits will be submitted mid-September and tenders for the civil works of the contract, the foundations, electrical, etc, will go out to tender at the same time. 

Costs have been within or below budget so far.

We expect to be in the facility late December to early January, but a lot of this will depend on the energizing of the electrical system which is tied to the upper field construction timelines. When completed, this will be a fabulous first class facility for soccer practicing and home for the NSGSC Soccer Academy.
